Tessa & Beren

When we decided to go ahead and actually make real the promise we had made to each other, we both knew that as much as we wanted our 'top secret' elopement to be just another day, it would in fact be monumental. In the absence of family and friends, finding the right person to accompany us on that journey was so important. I think we were lucky to find Liz. From first reading, there was something in the warmth of her words online and in the affection of words written about her that made us feel safe to get in touch. One Skype conversation was all it took for us to say 'yes!', both to going full steam ahead and to having Liz at the helm!

We stayed at her beautiful home as Air BnB guests for the days around the wedding, which gave us a refuge in which to prepare. Liz was always smiling, supportive and caring, and it was such fun to share chats and laughs with her as we came and went. And on the day itself she was with us at every step, but in such a relaxed way that there was no hint of the nerves, stress or panic we might otherwise have felt.

Liz, we may never meet again in person - although we very much hope that we will! - but regardless, you will always hold a very special place in our hearts!

With much love, Tessa & Beren, April 2017

For me what makes staying at a BnB special is the potential for personal engagement that you can't get at a hotel.

Liz and Steve are wonderful hosts and extremely open and friendly. They have also ensured that as the room is upstairs, guests get the best view possible. Looking out across the valley at the Southern Alps (we were there in winter) is spectacular (and at night the stars are stunning). The rooms have everything you'd need and the sheets are amazingly soft and warm ... it's a real pleasure slipping into bed after a day skiing and a good hot shower.

The farm is pretty as can be and if you have youngsters, they'll love the sheep, goats and extremely friendly and energetic dog, Beau. He's always keen and good to play with! I'd love to go on ... it's peaceful and a wonderful getaway spot within easy reach of all the outdoor activities in the area (wine farms, bungy, cycling, watersports, skiing/boarding/cross-country skiing/etc ...
